Seminar and Networking Event for Pet Pros to Be Held in Boston

It’s set for Aug. 8.

(Press Release) BABYLON, NY – American Pet Professionals announces its first Boston-area seminar and networking event for pet professionals.

It will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Convene located at 201 Washington St.

The event will feature senior digital strategist, pet owner advocate and Lifetime APP member Jane Harrell, president of ‘Cause Digital Marketing, as expert speaker and instructor. Harrell will be teaching pet pros “How to simplify social media strategies with ROI results” at this hands-on seminar.

This event is perfect for veteran and new pet professionals, especially those busy pet pros who struggle in figuring out which platforms their business should be on to get in front of potential customers using social media. This seminar will help educate pet pros on how to get the best ROI when it comes to social media, blogging and promotion.

At this seminar the following topics will be discussed:

  • Learn how to apply evergreen, planned and timely strategies for your pet business social media and marketing.
  • Learn how social media and other channels (like SEO and blogging) can work together to enhance each other for bigger results.
  • Examples of social media strategies that have worked for other pet pros.
  • Understanding which social platforms are best for your business.
  • How to get your social media strategy efforts to pay off.
  • Q&A throughout and leave with how-to and homework.

“I’m so excited to go back to the city where I started my pet industry career 16 years ago. The Boston community of pet lovers and businesses is a truly special one and I’m excited to bring everything I’ve learned over the years to help shape success for the businesses in a town I love so much,” Harrell said. “I am really looking forward this event hosted by American Pet Professionals, and so happy they are making this available for pet pros in Boston.”

Nancy Hassel, president and founder of American Pet Professionals, said, “I am thrilled to be able to bring this event to Boston pet professionals and I knew Jane was the perfect person to speak on this topic for our audience. Jane’s expertise in the pet industry and in helping pet professionals with their social media and digital strategies definitely stands out. We can’t wait to see everyone in Boston.”

Harrell passion for helping pet businesses and focused understanding of the online pet-owner space has earned her a reputation for innovation, expertise and proven results with businesses like Discovery Communications (Petfinder), Purina and IDEXX Laboratories.

This event is limited to 20 pet pros. Gourmet snacks, desserts and refreshments will be served. Attendees should bring business cards, brochures, a notebook and a pen. Each attendee will get a swag bag as a thank-you for attending this event.

The Early BIRD cost for non-members is $79 per person and early bird pricing ends on July 25. Pet pros can RSVP by going to http://americanpetprofessionals.com/events/in-person-networking/. America's Coolest Stores 2017 Winners Revealed!

HATS OFF TO THE CHAMPS

THE 2017 COOLEST PET RETAILERS UNVEILED!

 STORY BY PAMELA MITCHELL

If we learned one thing from our first America’s Coolest Stores Contest, it’s that there are a lot of very cool pet businesses all across the country.

So, what is cool? That’s hard to put a finger on, exactly, because “cool” is an amalgam of original ideas, tweaked unoriginal ideas, even stolen ideas, wrapped up into the package of an individual business … and that business’s individual market. What works one place, may not work elsewhere, after all. But the two underlying aspects of any Cool Store are being different — approaching a conventional business model with unconventional ideas — and a willingness to share. We want Pets+ readers to be inspired by these businesses and to take away from each story an idea or two that will work in their own stores.

In the Pets+ America’s Coolest Stores Contest, we try to put a finger on “cool,” by asking independent judges to rate entries in several categories: Aesthetics, Story History, Online Presence and Cool Factor. The top three winning businesses are featured in these pages, and Honorable Mentions will appear as Cool Store features in upcoming issues.

Be on the lookout for announcements for the 2018 Pets+ America’s Coolest Stores Contest, which will open for entries in January. Meantime, if you think you have a cool store, email us at coolstores@petsplusmag.com.
